'Tis the season to keep preparing for holiday baking! This time of year I start to feel festive and want to bake alllll the pumpkin things. All of my favorite muffins, breads, and pancakes taste so much better with homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice. But that small bottle never seems to last long enough. And trust me, there's nothing worse than running out of your favorite spices when you're in the mood to bake. This homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice is perfect to have year round and it will add a much better flavor than the little store bought bottles.
The spices I use in this mix will give your baked goods an incredible depth of flavor. If there is a spice you don't love, try reducing the amount a little. This is a fun recipe to play around with and truly make your own! You probably have the ingredients on hand already. I've added in some links for you to easily find my favorite choice for each spice.
If you compare my ingredient list with other homemade Pumpkin Pie Spices then you might notice my addition of cardamom. I love cardamom because it is has a spicy, herbal, and citrusy character that seems to make all the other flavors even more intense. Cardamom is even used for digestion problems so you can't go wrong with it. You've got to try it in your own Pumpkin Pie Spice at least once!
